"What experience do you have?"
That question scares people. They hear it and think: nothing. No real job. No company. No title.
Then you start asking better questions.
Have you worked on a school project? Organized something? Looked after younger siblings? Solved a problem at home? Worked with other people?
Suddenly the answer isn't nothing.
Every year I hear the same sentence. "Ham, I'm not ready." Not ready to apply. Not ready to start. Not ready to put myself out there.
A few questions in, the conversation usually changes.
Experience doesn't only come from a job. It comes from doing things. Solving problems. Taking responsibility. Trying something before you feel confident.
Your life leaves clues about what you can do. The mistake is ignoring them.
And you may never feel completely ready. Experience comes after trying. Confidence comes after action. You move forward by starting before you're prepared.
Waiting doesn't create experience. Doing does.
