Every job leaves something behind.
Not just money. Not just another line on your CV. An impression. What your name means to someone. Whether you made things easier. Whether you'd be worth working with again.

The manager you have today may be a reference tomorrow. The coworker beside you may be somewhere else next year. The person you help today may open a door in five.

Every job gives you two things. Skills and a reputation. The skills help you do the next job. The reputation helps you get it.
Years later someone may forget exactly what you worked on. They'll remember whether they trusted you.
